Founded in 1969 by JP Surkis, the business was originally known as JP Furniture with a store location in Bathurst, NB. In 1990 a second store was opened in Tracadie-Sheila under the name Ameublement Du Nord - Northern Furniture to better serve the Acadian Peninsula area. In the year 2000 the Bathurst store was re-branded as Northern Furniture - Ameublement Du Nord. The company continues to be run by the Surkis family and maintains the standards of service, integrity and dedication established by JP Surkis over 40 years ago.

With two store locations and wharehouse facilities at both locations, there is an extensive selection of inventory. Quality brand name appliances, home furnishings and electronics are always offered at affordable everyday low prices.
